Loving Others

John 13:34-35, “A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another.  By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.”

Amy Sharp, one of our many faithful volunteers, has been serving with Shepherd’s Gate for eight years. Amy began volunteering at Miracle Hill when she heard about the ministry at her church.

“…I knew right away that was where I wanted to volunteer. There had been a tugging on my heart to share my love of polymer clay in some form of ministry, but I didn't quite know how to go about it, until I learned about Miracle Hill.

I came in once a month to Shepherd's Gate to do polymer clay with the ladies in the Personal Development Program. Changes were made after Covid hit, and I began volunteering at the front desk. I answer phones, answer questions from the residents, help the case managers as needed, and take in donations.

What I love most about volunteering at Shepherd's Gate is seeing the power of God work in and through the residents hearts and minds. Being able to serve, and to see how the case managers, staff, and other volunteers, offer the love and discipleship the residents need, continually strengthens my own faith.

A word of warning to anyone dropping off a donation. If you happen to mention you recently retired, switched from a full-time to a part-time job, or mention you have been donating for many years and love to support Shepherd's Gate, you WILL get the Have You Ever Considered Volunteering Here and Why I Love Volunteering Here sales pitch!”

Thank you, Amy, for serving with us!
