Needs From: Miracle Hill Ministries

Summary: Provide transportation for our guests to and from sites within Cherokee County for jobs, interviews, volunteer sites, health care appointments, etc.  The volunteer must pass background checks, and will drive the ministry’s van. 

Specific Tasks:

Pick up Resident at the Rescue Mission 30 minutes prior to start of transportation shift. Drive Resident to job and/or appointment. A shift may require the volunteer to stay with the Resident for the duration of the appointment. Drive the Resident back to the Greenville Rescue Mission after the appointment.

Qualifications & Skills:

Minimum of 25 years old Dependable Complete and sign Vehicle Use Form and MVR Have at least a 5 year history of a drivers license (not including learner's permit)

 

We are regularly in need of in-kind donations to help with the daily needs of the Cherokee County Rescue Mission! If you are interested in donating items please respond to this need and a Volunteer Engagement Specialist will be in touch with you.

Summary: Provide a Christ centered, Bible based message – that conforms to Miracle Hill Ministry’s doctrinal statement – to our guests during a scheduled devotion period.  Usually this is just men or just women in their respective meeting areas. 

Specific Tasks: 

Lead a small group in a Bible study Use material we review and approve Maintain a non-denomination, non-sectarian approach

Thank you for your interest in supporting Miracle Hill Cherokee County Rescue Mission.  We are looking for those who are interested in sponsoring items to benefit the shelter as a whole. Cherokee County Rescue Mission is a homeless shelter that provides up to 40 men, women, and mothers with children with shelter, food, counseling, and case management.  The hope and Gospel of Jesus Christ is woven into every aspect of care.

Summary: We need volunteer teams who are interested in helping with yard maintenance and/or outdoor projects at the Cherokee County Rescue Mission.

Specific Tasks: 

Outdoor tasks Includes tasks such as: window washing, lawn care, grass cutting, bush trimming, weed eating, or power washing of the building

Qualifications & Skills:

Must be 18 years old unless accompanied by an adult

Summary: We need dependable volunteers to help us at the Front Desk. Various shifts are available on Mondays through Friday. By responding to this Need, an email will be sent to our Volunteer Engagement Specialist who will contact you to answer any questions you may have and to discuss the openings that we have that might work for your schedule.

Specific Tasks: 

Answer the telephone and take messages. Greet visitors. Accept donations and fill out donor receipts.

Qualifications & Skills:

Volunteers should be: Minimum of 18 years old Dependable Must complete the Miracle Hill Volunteer application and abide by the ministry guidelines Must contact Shep Wright prior to starting  Questions can be emailed to swright@miraclehill.org

Summary: We need volunteers to help sort, fold, and organize clothing donations. Sort donated clothing by men’s and women’s, sizes, etc.  Place needed clothing in designated storage for our guests, place surplus in bags to be taken to our thrift store operation.

Specific Tasks: 

Sort and fold clothing Hang items on the appropriate clothing racks Complete inventory and report clothing needs to staff

Summary: Pastors from local churches are invited to prepare and present a 30 minute message for the guest at the Cherokee County Rescue Mission.

Specific Tasks:

Prepare a 30 minute message. Arrive 10 minutes prior to start time in order to start promptly at the appointed time. Open with prayer. Present message. Close in prayer.

Qualifications & Skills:

Must know Jesus Christ as your personal Savior and exhibit a consistent, Christ-like testimony to those your life would impact.  Speakers must be pre-approved by the facility Director or volunteer coordinator. Speakers must agree to present scripturally accurate materials, in accordance with the Miracle Hill Doctrinal Statement, and be in line with Miracle Hill’s Speaker Guidelines.  Must contact Shep Wright prior to starting  Questions can be emailed to swright@miraclehill.org

Summary: Come to the Cherokee County Rescue Mission and build relationships with our guests. 

Specific Tasks

Build relationships by listening and talking with our guests. Attend devotionals and meals with our guests Come back with regularity to continue to build the relationship

Requirements

21 years old or older Must be a strong believer in Christ Must regularly attend a local church
