Summary: This is an opportunity for volunteers to engage guests with spiritual nourishment through the Word of God.

Specific Tasks: 

Come prepared with a Scripture lesson for the session (we can provide a template if needed) Be able to facilitate discussion and lead guests toward spiritual truths--both on a group level and with individuals Bring coffee bag(s) to help with coffee supply Have fellowship and develop relationships with our guests

Qualifications & Skills:

Must be at least 18 years old Must be a committed follower of Jesus with experience in teaching the Scriptures Must be a man or if a woman must be with a male who is a close relative (i.e.: male and female couple) Church small groups are encouraged to participate Must be willing to commit to a consistent schedule  Questions? Volunteers (must be at least 14 years of age, but anyone under 18 MUST be accompanied and supervised by an adult at all times) will finalize dining room preparations and fellowship with our residents during the meal.

During mealtime, volunteers will fellowship with residents, refill drinks, and serve desserts. Our residents love to chat about lots of things from sports to current events and everything in between and long to be treated like “regular people.”  Having friends fellowship and share a meal is a vital part of their social rehabilitation by helping to remove their insecurities and fear of rejection.

We encourage you to enjoy your serving time at the Greenville Rescue Mission; feel free to photograph yourself and/or your group while you are here! Just be sure to protect the privacy of our residents by not including them in your photos.

For Groups:

We need a list of every person coming to volunteer with us. Chaperones for groups need to maintain a ratio of 5 youth to every 1 chaperone. Chaperones must be present at all times. Chaperones must be representative of the gender(s) included in the group.  If there are boys and girls in the group, chaperones should be male and female. Chaperones of the same gender must go with students into the bathroom and stay with them until returning to the group.

Summary: Come to the Greenville Rescue Mission and build relationships with our men. 

Specific Tasks

Build relationships by listening and talking with our men Attend devotionals and meals with our guests Come back with regularity to continue to build the relationship

Male Only 30 years old or older Must be a strong believer in Christ Must regularly attend a local church

Thank you for your interest in supporting Miracle Hill Greenville Rescue Mission

We are looking for those who are interested in sponsoring items to benefit the shelter as a whole.  Greenville Rescue Mission is an emergency shelter (135 beds in 5 separate dorms) for men that provides refuge from the dangers of living on the streets.  The gymnasium is used as 1 of 3 cold weather shelters.  Guests attend chapel several times weekly and have access to the computer lab and medical care.

We are regularly in need of in-kind donations to help with the daily needs of the Greenville Rescue Mission! If you are interested in donating items please respond to this need and a Volunteer Engagement Specialist will be in touch with you.

Below is a list of items that we have as regular needs:

Toilet Paper Paper Towels Cleaning Supplies Office Supplies (8.5x11 copy paper, pens, staples, sharpies, masking tape, printer cartridges)

Summary: Pickleball is played every Thursday evening at 6:30PM.  

Specific Tasks:

Come play pickleball with other volunteers and guests here at the Rescue Mission.

Summary: The community is invited to attend chapel with our men every Monday, Wednesday and Friday evenings at 6:55 PM, Friday morning at 7:55 AM and Sunday evening at 5:55 PM and provide encouragement and fellowship. Chapel lasts less than an hour.

Requirements:

Males or Couples 18 years old or above
