Summary: Volunteers will be in charge of Rest Stop 5 for the 69 and 80-mile routes.
Specifics:
- Pick up all items for the rest stop on Friday, May 31st at the Miracle Hill Admin Office between 11:00am and 5:00pm (490 S. Pleasantburg Drive/ Greenville, SC 29607 (Items you will be picking up: table, chairs, tent, all food items and paper goods, and water cooler)
- Arrive on site on June 1st and set up your rest stop station
- Get ice for your cooler and prep food as needed (cut watermelon, fix PB&J sandwiches, etc.)
- Cheer on cyclists as they pass by. It's very important to have a lot of energy excitement to make this a fun experience for the cyclists.
- When the SAG driver contacts you as the last cyclist passes, clean up the area and return items to the Children's Home. If a volunteer is not planning on going to the Children's Home for lunch and activities, they can return all of the items to the admin office the following Monday.
Qualifications:
- High energy- willing to cheer on the cyclists
- Ability to be outside in the sun/heat
- Reliability as this is a very important role in providing cyclists with hydration, refueling snacks, and encouragement to finish the race strong
** If a group wants to manage this rest stop, you are welcome to rotate shifts. Please ensure that there are at least 2 volunteers at the rest stop at all times.
