Miracle Hill is seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual fluent in Spanish and English to serve as a volunteer translator. This vital role will help ensure effective communication between our organization and Spanish-speaking individuals accessing our services.
**Responsibilities:**
1. Provide translation services during guests’ intake process and general interactions with staff members.
2. Translate written materials, including forms, documents, and informational materials, to ensure accessibility for Spanish-speaking guests.
3. Assist with translation during meetings, counseling sessions, and events involving Spanish-speaking guests and staff members.
5. Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions with clients and staff members.
**Qualifications:**
- Fluency in Spanish and English, with strong written and verbal communication skills in both languages.
- Previous experience in translation or interpretation preferred, but not required.
- Cultural competence and sensitivity to the needs of diverse populations.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
- Reliable and committed to fulfilling volunteer responsibilities with compassion and professionalism.
- Since we are a Christian organization, it is important for us to have a translator that can communicate our values to our guests effectively. If you are interested in this role, you will be asked about your walk with Christ and how that plays a role in your life.
**Time Commitment:**
Flexible schedule based on volunteer availability. Volunteers are asked to commit to a minimum of one hour per week, and be on call during the mission’s intake hours.
